Individualized Online Course "Certain Issues Regarding the Protection of Honor, Dignity, and Business Reputation in Connection with the Dissemination of Information on Social Media and Compensation for Moral Damage"

On May 26 of this year, the Academy of Justice organized another individualized online professional development course for judges of regional and district courts who handle civil cases, on the topic: “Certain Issues Regarding the Protection of Honor, Dignity, and Business Reputation in Connection with the Dissemination of Information on Social Media and Compensation for Moral Damage.”

Approximately 500 civil court judges from across the country participated in the event. The seminar emphasized the importance of timely and effective legal protection of honor, dignity, and business reputation, as well as the growing role of moral damage compensation in today’s context.

The seminar addressed issues such as the specific application of legislation in defamation and insult cases on social media, and included a practical case study involving the dissemination of false information.

Speakers included Judge Elena Tagirovna Maksyuta of the Judicial Panel of the Supreme Court and Judge Roza Myrzakulovna Yertayeva of the Judicial Panel of the Astana City Court.

The seminar was held at a high level and generated strong interest among participants, who actively engaged in discussions and exchanged views.
