On July 01, 2025, under the authority of the High Judicial Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Academy of Justice held an international round table dedicated to the launch of cassation courts in the country.

Dmitry Mikhailovich Malakhov, Chairman of the High Judicial Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Kanat Kalkamanovich Musin, Acting Rector of the Academy, delivered welcoming speeches.

The event was attended by members of the High Judicial Council, representatives of the Supreme and local courts, Prosecutor General’s Office and the advocacy community, as well as scientists and practitioners from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Germany and Russia.

The round table was aimed at analyzing the key challenges faced by national judicial systems in the implementation of cassation courts, exchanging international experience and searching for effective mechanisms for the implementation of justice at the cassation level. Thus, such topics as the legal nature and prospects of cassation courts in Kazakhstan, the specifics of cassation proceedings, the role of cassation in ensuring legality and justice, and the international comparative legal experience of cassation proceedings were discussed during the round table.

The speakers’ speeches were accompanied by a lively discussion, during which proposals were made to improve the judicial system and increase the effectiveness of the cassation mechanism.

At the end of the event, the results of the discussions were summed up and prospects for further scientific and practical cooperation were outlined.
