Master’s students of the Academy of Justice under the Supreme Judicial Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in an off-site academic session at the AIFC Court and the International Arbitration Centre.

The visit was organized by the faculty members of the Research and Educational Center for Civil Law Disciplines – Y.O. Yegemberdiyev, T.B. Dossayev, and R.R. Sultanov – within the framework of the courses «Specific Features of Adjudicating Certain Categories of Civil Cases» and «Judicial Practice in the Application of Conflict-of-Law Rules in Private International Law».

During the visit, the participants were introduced to the legal status, jurisdiction, and procedural regulations governing the activities of the AIFC Court and the International Arbitration Centre. Representatives of the institutions provided detailed explanations of procedural mechanisms for resolving civil and commercial disputes, as well as the particularities of applying legal norms within an international financial jurisdiction.

Special attention was given to statistical indicators reflecting institutional performance. The students were presented with data on the number of applications received, cases considered, and decisions enforced in civil and commercial disputes, enabling them to assess the practical effectiveness of these institutions.

Studying the activities of the AIFC Court and the International Arbitration Centre enhances the theoretical knowledge of future judges and fosters a comparative understanding of different models of adjudication. The experience gained contributes to the development of professional competencies in the field of civil and commercial dispute resolution.

The Academy of Justice continues to promote practice-oriented education, ensuring the integration of academic knowledge and judicial practice.
