On April 12, 2025, the IX scientific and practical conference of master’s students and doctoral students was held on the topic: “Legislation and justice: the interaction of law and judicial practice”. The conference was dedicated to the memory of Nagashbai Amangaleevich Shaikenov, an outstanding scientist, reformer and public figure. The event was organized by the Academy of Justice under the High Judicial Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the participation of the Shaikenov Students Association. Lydia Alekseevna, Nagashbai Amangaleevich Shaikenov’s wife, and Zauresh Khamitovna Baymoldina, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Honorary Professor of the Academy of Justice, Head of the Astana Center of the Eurasian Institute of Economic and Legal Studies at the Narkhoz University, N.A. Shaikenov’s colleague and associate, as well as Candidate of Legal Sciences, Chairman of the Specialized Inter–District Juvenile Court of Zhambyl region, one of Nagashbai Amangaleevich’s students, Duman Bolatuly Maulenov and Bolat Menshik, representative of the Shaikenov Students Association delivered greetings and parting words to the master’s students of the Academy – future judges. The conference featured presentations by master’s students, postgraduates, and doctoral students, as well as a meaningful and interesting discussion. One of the outstanding presentations that aroused particular interest among the participants was a report by a graduate student of the Ural State Law University named after Yakovlev, Batrakhanov Arman Ablaikhanovich on the topic: “On the question of the category of interest in the works of N.A. Shaikenov. Using the example of choosing jurisdiction in cross-border disputes”. During the breakout discussion, the reports of: undergraduate student of the State Academic University of the Humanities, A.V. Korzun; graduate student of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, M.A. Sycheva; graduate student of the State Academic University of the Humanities, M.A. Morozova were highlighted. All undergraduates of the Academy of Justice took part in the plenary and the work of the sections. Following the conference, the Academy of Justice presented letters of thanks to L.A. Shaikenova, Z.H. Baymoldina, D.B. Maulenov, B. Menshik, as well as to young researchers who spoke during the plenary part of the conference. L.A. Shaikenova donated books about Nagashbai Amangaleevich to the library of the Academy of Justice, and A.A. Batrakhanov presented books donated by the staff of the Ural State Law University named after Yakovlev. Such events not only contribute to the development of science, but also create a space for young scientists to interact and find new ideas. An electronic collection of reports will be published following the conference.
