The Academy of Justice under the High Judicial Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan held the VI Eurasian Forum on Human Rights

    On December 6, 2024, the Academy of Justice under the High Judicial Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan held the VI Eurasian Forum on the topic: “Human rights: legislative regulation and law enforcement practice”.

    The forum was held in an online format, with the participation of scientists from the Germany, Kyrgyzstan, Russian Federation, Uzbekistan as well as representatives of government bodies, judges and practicing lawyers.

   Dmitry Mikhailovich Malakhov, Chairman of the High Judicial Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Tastemir Dautovich Abishev, Deputy Chairman of the Human Rights Commission under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, delivered a welcoming speech. The speakers drew special attention to the need to discuss human rights issues in order to further improvement of legal regulation and law enforcement practice.

   Within the framework of the forum, the problems of legislative regulation of human rights and law enforcement practice in this area were identified, as well as ways to solve them were proposed. In particular, the participants were invited to focus on the need to protect human rights; to ensure the effective implementation of the right to a fair and open trial by the court; attention was also drawn to the need to develop international standards and mechanisms for the protection of digital human rights and freedoms in the context of digital technologies development, etc.

   The participants and guests noted the high organization of the forum by the Academy of Justice and expressed their readiness for further cooperation.

   Following the results of the forum, it is planned to publish an electronic collection on the website of the Academy of Justice. Everyone will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the content of the presented reports.

   The speakers’ reports are considered to be an important contribution to the successful holding of the forum. The high professionalism of each speaker, a deep understanding of the topics, as well as the ability to convey important information to the audience, received positive feedback from the forum participants.

   Undoubtedly, the ideas and proposals that were voiced during the forum will have a significant impact on the development of the topic of human rights.
