A five-day training workshop dedicated to training qualified trainers in the field of intellectual property (IP) has launched at the National Institute of Intellectual Property (Qazpatent). The event is organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in cooperation with the Department for Intellectual Property Rights of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Running from September 28 to October 2, 2026, the training program aims to build a pool of national instructors equipped with advanced knowledge and teaching methodologies in IP enforcement practice.
Participants include justice officials, patent attorneys, corporate legal counsel, and representatives of the academic community. Notably, the Academy of Justice under the High Judicial Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan is represented at the training by Professors Y.O. Yegemberdiyev, Candidate of Legal Sciences, and R.R. Sultanov, Candidate of Legal Sciences. The involvement of leading legal scholars will enable the integration of international WIPO standards into judicial training and professional development curricula.
Support from WIPO provides Kazakhstani specialists with the opportunity to master international standards, modern teaching techniques, and practical approaches to the legal protection of intellectual property assets. The trained instructors will go on to conduct educational programs and workshops for rights holders, judges, and the business community.
